To FMRQ members,
Subsequent to a rapid rapprochement of the negotiating parties following the Tribunal’s decisions regarding the level of essential services to be provided in the event of a strike, an agreement in principle has been concluded in recent days. The legal analysis of certain texts linked to agreed principles remains to be completed. This implies the current legal process leading up to the strike is suspended until the agreement in principle is ratified, or not, by the resident doctors. It is mutually agreed between the parties that the agreement in principle’s content shall remain strictly confidential until its ratification.
Negotiations will not be considered settled until a potential official agreement has been signed by the Minister of Health and your representatives. We therefore ask members to maintain a high profile within the community, articulated around the theme of respect, until such time a formal agreement has been reached. New visibility tools, both for the purpose of negotiations and of addressing discriminatory measures within Bill 83 targeting young doctors, have already been sent to members, and remain entirely relevant. Your representatives are now organizing the rest of the process, and you will be invited to general assemblies where the agreement in principle will be presented to you over the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for more information on this topic.
