As you know, the Federation and its affiliated associations held four general meetings this week, from Monday to Thursday.
After presenting the context of the latest negotiations, the offers rejected during the negotiations, and finally the content of the agreement in principle reached between the government and your representatives, this agreement was ratified by secret ballot by members of all associations.
We also remind you that during the process of ratification of the agreement by all parties involved, including the Minister of Health, the content of this agreement remains confidential.
As explained during these meetings, these votes are an important step in the process of ratifying the agreement in principle, but do not represent the end of this process since the government party, including the Treasury Board and ultimately the Minister of Health, must still ratify the legal texts that will eventually become the articles of the new collective agreement. There are, therefore, at this stage, no new provisions coming into force and the actual collective agreement continues to apply until further notice.
Of course, as soon as the ratification process is complete, we will communicate to all members all the details of the new collective agreement and the expected date of their entry into force.
