Bill 22 on Services Offered by Family Physicians: We Fear the Return of the Barrette Era Methods
Bill 22 proposes nothing less than to resurrect the Law promoting access to the services of family physicians and medical specialists. The Law A-2.2 which has dispositions that have never been put into effect and for good reason, as it is the legislative result of former minister Gaétan Barrette’s bill 20. This is what the FMRQ has, among other issues, has expressed at the February 1, 2022 Parliamentary Commission on Bill 22 – aiming at increasing the supply of primary care services by general practitioners and to improve the management of this supply.
