Your Rights Regarding Federal Elections

Ahead of the April 28, 2025 federal election, we remind you that under the Canada Elections Actevery employee who is an elector must be given three consecutive hours for the purpose of casting his or her vote on April 28, during polling station opening hours, i.e., between 9:30 am and 9:30 pm Eastern Time. The establishment may not prevent you from exercising this right if your work hours do not enable you to count on this three-hour period for voting.

The Agreement in Principle Has Been Ratified by the 4 Associations

As you know, the Federation and its affiliated associations held four general meetings from March 24 to March 27, 2025. 

After presenting the context of the latest negotiations, the offers rejected during the negotiations, and finally the content of the agreement in principle reached between the government and your representatives, this agreement was ratified by secret ballot by members of all associations.

As you know, an agreement in principle will be presented to you at a special general assembly meeting organized by your association. However, negotiations for the renewal of your collective agreement will not be resolved until an official agreement is signed by the Minister of Health and your representatives. We therefore ask that you maintain the visibility demanding respect required in the community until a formal agreement is officially concluded.

Taking Vacation. How Many Calls Could You Have to Perform During this Rotation Period?


If you take vacation or other leave, the number of calls you may have to perform during your rotation will be reduced.

Normally, the maximum number of calls per rotation period is 6 in an establishment and 9 at home, under the collective agreement.

Should you take leave, your number of calls is reduced IN PROPORTION TO TIME WORKED during the 28-day period in question (Art. 12.20).
